Nicholas County Schools Will Consolidate

At Monday’s meeting, the Nicholas County school board decided to put the idea of school consolidation on hold for a night after a nearly five hour meeting The results of Tuesday night’s vote are in, and Nicholas County Board of Education unanimously voted in favor of school consolidation. That means Nicholas County High School, Richwood High School and Nicholas County Career and Technical Center would combine into one high school, and Richwood Middle and Summersville Middle schools would merge into one middle school. Both moves could happen after the 2019-2020 school year.
