Tuition Skyrockets in West Virginia
A new reports shows tuition in West Virginia has skyrocketed in the past decade. The West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy released a report that found the increase of tuition outpaced the rate of inflation, with college and universities costing $4200 more per year over the past fifteen years. That’s a 147 percent increase, and the Gazette-Mail reports increases in fees and room and board are not factored in to that amount. State lawmakers are considering higher education budget cuts, which some say could lead to more tuition increases.
