Help Line Launched To Combat Overdose Problem
West Virginia is launching its first 24-hour statewide substance abuse call line to try to improve the state’s overdose death rate – the highest in the nation. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced the launch of 844-HELP4WV, run by West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and First Choice Health Systems. The call line will also provide services to people battling other behavioral health issues, including suicide and depression. No callers will be placed on hold, but will be immediately connected to staff that can help.
