CPS Takes Custody of Kids After Mom is Caught Doing Drugs
A Charleston woman is facing charges after doing drugs in front of her children. Police said toddlers were found in filthy conditions and were wandering in the neighborhood while another baby was home with the mother, Roberta Smith, while she did drugs. Smith was arrested at the home on Ruffner Avenue near a Charleston Police station, and faces a charge for child neglect creating risk of injury, possession of crystal meth and possession of a controlled substance. The children are in the custody of Child Protective Services.
