Maryland Men Face Gun Charges
Two men have been charged with illegally trafficking guns from West Virginia to Maryland. A federal grand jury in Elkins returned an indictment charging 26-year-old Jarrud Dixon of New Market, Maryland, and 32-year-old Robert Sales of Mount Airy, Maryland. An investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found Dixon and Sales conspired with a licensed dealer in Pocahontas County to transport firearms across state lines. If convicted, the charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
