Clay County Man Faces Child Neglect Charges

A Clay County man is charged with child neglect after an incident Saturday evening. 34-year old Joshua Phillips was ordered by police to let go of his son and drop a sharp object during an encounter wit police, but he didn’t comply. The criminal complaint says it happened in the stairwell of some apartments along the 800 block of 4th Avenue in Montgomery. Phillips was eventually arrested and taken to South Central Regional Jail.
