Community Center to be Renovated

The Charleston Urban Renewal Authority is joining forces with the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation to renovate the Community Center on the West Side. The two groups are working on updating Reverend James Ealy’s 2nd Avenue Community Center. Cost of the project is around half a million dollars. John C. Norman, the first African-American to be a registered architect in West Virginia, designed the community center building.
