National Network Slams WV Economy
The cable network CNBC isn’t holding out a lot of hope for the West Virginia economy. CNBC ranks the Mountain State as the worst state for business in 2017 and says it’s in an economic death spiral. A decrease in coal production gets much of the blame. Gov. Jim Justice blames lawmakers, and said Wednesday that the legislature is keeping the state in last place and urges them to follow his new ideas for recovery. West Virginia was one of seven states with a shrinking economy last year.
