Elkview Crossings Bridge Gets Closer to Opening

They’re making progress toward the reopening of the Crossings Mall in Elkview. Concrete was poured Thursday for the deck of the new bridge that will help open the shopping complex, which has been closed since the June 2016 flood. The shopping center is expected to reopen sometime between July 24 and July 31, according to a spokeswoman for the Kanawha County Commission, and they say its expected to boost the community and the economics of the entire Elkview area. Eyewitness News reports Kroger is remodeling its store and expects to have 15 new employees, bringing the total number of employees at the store to 110. Kroger hopes the remodel project will be completed in August after the bridge work is finished.
