Many High Rise Buildings Have Vacancies
Despite a better economy, the vacancy rates are high at Charleston’s high rise buildings. Class A properties, as they’re called, have seen vacancy rates jump from an average of 17.8 percent in October to 19.6 percent today, according to the Gazette-Mail and a recent survey by a realty group. That’s the highest vacancy rate in 20 years. Many think it has peaked, and the situation will improve.
