Businesses in Charleston are teaming up to prevent future break-ins after a string along Smith Street in Charleston. Businesses impacted include
Affiliated Construction Trades, and the Charleston Area Alliance, which will make $10,000 worth of security upgrades, according to Eyewitness News. Most businesses are investing in new security alarms and locks after an uptick in burglaries over the past three months. Police said there has been increased patrol in the downtown area.
