Yeager Airport Expands Police Presence
Police at Yeager Airport are expanding their efforts. Executives announced this week that they’ll add one new officer position to the airport’s in-house law enforcement agency and extend the length of officers’ shifts. The 24/7 service will have at least two on-duty members of the department working at all times. Prior to this, there had been a gap in the early morning hours – primarily 4 to 6am, when the night officer was getting off the clock and the morning officer was yet to report to work. It was in that gap last month when a man snuck onto a plane and damaged it. The staffing changes are to take effect in the next couple of weeks.
