Grants Help Offset Coal Related Losses

West Virginia is receiving more than $1.5 million in funds aimed at softening the blow of the state’s battered coal economy. The so-called POWER funding draws upon the resources of several federal agencies and the Appalachian Regional Commission. The funding is used for economic and workforce development in regions laid low by changing energy economies.
