Attendance Low for Bridge Day Jumpers
Thrill-seekers showed up for West Virginia’s Bridge Day but in fewer numbers than expected. Bridge Day is the one day a year it’s legal to jump off the 876-foot high span across the New River Gorge. The latest edition of the event this weekend attracted about 120 people. Typically up to 400 tickets are sold to BASE jumpers. BASE stands for the places from which jumpers usually leap: buildings, antennae, spans and earth.
