Former GW High Teacher Sentenced on Gun Charges
A former high school math teacher who pleaded guilty to buying a gun for a felon has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison. Thirty-nine-year-old Jennifer Napier of East Bank was sentenced this week in federal court in Charleston. Napier falsely stated on a federal form that she was the buyer of a weapon from a gun dealer, even though she knew the real buyer was her boyfriend, who was a convicted felon. Napier was suspended from her job at George Washington High School after being charged in 2013. She agreed to surrender her teaching certificate and not reapply until her federal sentence is over.
