Man is Okay after Elk River Water Rescue
A man is lucky to be alive today after being rescued from his vehicle as water submerged it. The man was saved from the Elk River Friday just after 10 p.m. along Little Sandy Road. The water was up to the vehicle’s windows when rescue teams arrived, and they had to pull the man out of the back window and onto a boat. He is expected to be okay, and told rescuers he was trying to cross the creek a couple miles upstream his vehicle got swept away. He stayed on the phone with a dispatcher for about 30 minutes while he waited for crews to arrive.
