Bridge Deck Work Means More Closures
The state Dept. of Transportation has been shifting I-64 westbound traffic back to its original lane configuration as work continues on the bridge deck project. The Lee Street westbound on ramp is still closed. Starting this week, the contractor is going to do away with that contraflow lane and shift eastbound traffic back to its original flow, but that means a lane closure in the meantime. A single left-hand lane closure is planned over the next few days overnight on Interstate 64 eastbound from just after the Montrose exit to Women and Children’s Hospital. The Oakwood Entrance ramp to US 119 should be open by next Monday, November 9th, and the DOT says the goal is to have all traffic control devices removed by that time too.
