Changes to Traffic Pattern as Contraflow Lane is Phased Out

Again tonight from from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., a single right-hand lane will close as crews work on the Interstate 64 Bridge Deck project. The lane will close from the I-77NB/I-64 WB split to the Virginia Street on-ramp. According to the West Virginia Department of Transportation, it’s to finish work on the Lee Street on-ramp. This is an accelerated plan to finish up ahead of less-than-ideal weather this weekend. The contraflow lane has been in place while work is done on the bridge-deck project on I-64, and this will be the last week for it as traffic patterns shift again.
