Fleeing suspect jumps into Ohio River

The search will resume this morning for a suspect who jumped into the Ohio River. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a pursuit last night when the suspect’s vehicle crashed at U-S-52 and Buffalo Creek. The suspect took off on foot and jumped into the river near Chesapeake High School. Rescue Crews say it has turned into a recovery operation, and not a rescue operation.
