Teacher strike continues

Schools are closed for an eighth day across West Virginia…The West Virginia Senate passed an amended pay raise bill Saturday, lowering a raise for teachers from five percent to four percent. The House did not concur, so the bill will go to a special conference committee. Union leaders say the strike will continue until the five percent raise is passed.
