Vandalism Reported at Little League Fields

Someone stole parts of bleachers from the Mountaineer Little League. The bleachers were dismantled and the aluminum was taken off, possibly to sell as scrap metal. The Mountaineer Little League group started looking at replacement costs and it will be at least $3,000. The group had been planning to upgrade scoreboards this season and get new equipment for players, but after the vandalism that may have to wait. The Kanawha County Sheriff Department said they are investigating and said those metal thefts are common in abandoned homes and businesses but WCHS TV reports it’s not so common off of bleachers. Several people have already stepped forward with donations to help Mountaineer Little League regroup.
