Blankenship wants conviction tossed out
Former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship is trying to get his mine safety violation conviction tossed out. Blankenship served a year in prison for charges related to the Upper Big Brank Mine explosion in 2010. His legal team filed a motion yesterday to vacate the conviction, claiming the prosecution withheld key documents in the case. Blankenship is running for a U.S. Senate seat.
