Longhorned Tick is Found in Putnam County
An invasive species is making its way across the United States. For the first time in West Virginia, the longhorned tick has been found on an animal in the area. Eyewitness News reported eight longhorned ticks were found on a dog in Putnam County, and a veteranarian said the tick is spreading very quickly and is affecting livestock production because it attacks in massive numbers. The best protection is good flea and tick control.
