Checkpoint Looks for Impaired Drivers
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office “zero tolerance” policy was put into action Saturday night with a DUI checkpoint. The checkpoints are always announced ahead of time, and it’s a high visibility sobriety checkpoint aimed at cracking down on drunk and drug-impaired drivers. This one Saturday night was on WV Rt. 25 near Institute. More checkpoints are planned, especially over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
