Police searching for hit-and-run driver

Charleston police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident on the West Side. It happened just before eight o’clock Wednesday morning. A woman was walking on the sidewalk near the intersection of Washington Street West and Beatrice Street when the car hit a utility pole and then hit the pedestrian. The driver and passenger fled the scene on foot. The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
