Remains Identified as Missing Person

The Kanwaha County Sheriff’s Office says some remains found in June have been identified as a missing person. On June 12th the human remains were found in a wooded area near the home of Ethan Christopher Spradling, on Phyllis Drive in the Mink Shoals area. The remains were taken to the WV Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston and then to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. Dental records were used to positively identified the remains as Ethan Spradling. He was reported missing May 4th. The investigation is still open.
