Elk Tours Begin at Chief Logan State Park
Chief Logan State Park is hosting 20 guided tours to the area where more than 90 elk roam freely. The elk are at the nearby Tomlin Wildlife Management Area and were imported from Kentucky and Arizona. They’re part of a Division of Natural Resources effort to restore the species to the state. The Gazette-Mail reports the four-hour tours are scheduled to begin Saturday and elk sightings aren’t guaranteed, but the tours are scheduled for dawn and dusk, when elk are most active.
