Officer-involved shooting in Fayette County

Officers fatally shot a man during a hostage situation in Fayette County. Fayette County deputies and a State Trooper fatally shot 45-year-old William Cox after he made threats against a woman’s life and pointed a gun at officers. It happened Thursday morning on Okey L. Patteson Road in the Scarbro area. Cox was holding the woman against her will. Cox died at the scene. No officers were injured.
