Marshall Enrollment Looks to Boost Freshman Enrollment
Freshman enrollment at Marshall University is down this fall, but overall enrollment has increased from last year to 13,178, thanks to some high school students. The Herald-Dispatch reports that figure is up 168 students from 2017. President Jerome Gilbert attributed the rise to an 80 percent increase in high school students taking dual-credit courses.
Gilbert said it’s hoped the freshman enrollment figure rises next year, and he believes high school numbers could increase as well. He said officials hope the high school students will enroll as Marshall freshmen in the future.
