WQBE Personality Al Wood Has Died

Well-known Charleston radio personality, Al Wood, passed away early Thursday. Al joined WQBE in 1980 and has been the #1 Morning Man in Charleston for decades. Al Wood grew up in Raleigh County and came to Charleston after working at a radio station in Nashville. He also worked in Beckley. Messages have been pouring into the station and on social media as fans reacted to the news of Woody’s death. He will be missed.
