School Levy Passes by Large Margin
Schools in Kanawha County will have more money after voters approved the levy on Tuesday. Property owners agreed to pay more in taxes to help fund the schools with the excess levy passing Tuesday by 34,799 votes to 18,930. The money will go for issues including HVAC improvements and roofing projects, updating safety and security measures, adding turf at the high schools, along with generating the funding for custodians, counselors and art teachers.
