Suspect flees during routine traffic stop

A man who ran from a State Trooper during a routine traffic stop Monday afternoon was found trying to hide under a washed out three stump in the Guyandotte River. Twenty-three-year-old Zachary Sparks fled into the woods and police used a K-9 to track him down. He’s is charged with DUI, battery on a K-9, assaulting an officer and several other charges.
