Mine Rescue Team Recognized By The Governor
Governor Jim Justice honored a group of 16 men on Wednesday who risked their lives in rescuing three missing people last week in Raleigh County. Justice presented members of the West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health Safety mine rescue team with certificates of recognition for their efforts at the Rock House Powelton Mine in Clear Creek. The group goes through 96 hours of mandated training each year to be able to do what they do and they have at least five years of experience working in mines.
