6th Fatal Fire Reported This Week

This hasn’t been a good week in West Virginia for house fires. The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to another fatal fire in Ritchie County Wednesday, and that makes six fatal fires this week. The fire Wednesday afternoon was at a home in Harrisville, and an elderly woman died. The cause of this fire may have been due to cooking, but no exact cause has been released. Two people died in a fire that was traced to a wood burning stove at a home in Fayetteville earlier this week.
