Church’s Stolen Antiques are Recovered
Antique furnishings that were stolen from a historic African American church within the New River Gorge National River, have been recovered. The National Park Service announced this week that pews, choir benches, wooden chairs and tables stolen from the Quinnimont Baptist Church on Feb. 7 were recovered after being sold to an antique store. National Park Service rangers have identified several suspects in the break-in and robbery, but the investigation is ongoing.
