Renovations Continue at the Civic Center

The Charleston Civic Center is getting a 90 million dollar facelift, but events are continuing while the upgrades are in progress. The Harlem Globetrotters played there last night in fact. As part of the improvement project, they’re installing new stairs for an emergency exit, a new sound system, and new restrooms. That’s all part of phase 1, and during phase two they’ll create more meeting and convention spaces. Later on with phase three they’ll add mechanical plant with new heating and cooling systems.
