Landslide Closes Road in Nicholas County

Detour signs are up in Nicholas County. The Division of Highways says a section of West Virginia Route 82 is closed because of a landslide. The closed section is 2.6 miles east of Birch River. One lane is expected to reopen at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The DOH says heavy rain caused Monday’s landslide. State crews are working to remove rock and debris from the road.
