Nurse Practitioners

Whether or not some nurse practitioners in the state will have full authority to prescribe meds is in the hands of Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. After some amendments, the House and Senate passed the bill that would allow Schedule II narcotic prescriptions to be written by some APRNs. If the governor signs the bill into legislation, West Virginia would be the 22nd state with such a law beginning in July.
