Constellium Plant in Ravenswood Gets a Boost
A boost for manufacturing… The Constellium plant in Ravenswood has a new contract with Airbus to make aerospace aluminum. Airbus makes planes, and the Constellium plant will make advanced aluminum rolled products for the frames, under the agreement. Airbus is also using a plant in France to make the aluminum, but the Ravenswood spot is the only US location for that type of manufacturing. No official numbers on how it’s expected to boost employment, but many in Ravenswood are hoping the economic boost spills over to businesses like restaurants and daycares.
