Yeager Airport Notices Slip in the Slide Area
They’ve been monitoring it, and noticed slight movement at the top of the Yeager Airport slide. WCHS TV says there was a drop of about 15 feet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday and they’re continuing to watch it. This is the spot where the major landslide happened in March, and destroyed a church on Keystone Drive and forced evacuations. Since the slide, the airport has installed an alarm system that sends notice when there’s been a slip. A contractor has been hired to work on the hillside, and other flood prevention measures are in place too.
