Kanawha Fire

A fire ripped through a Kanawha County home killing one person yesterday afternoon. Several agencies were on scene fighting the blaze for a few hours. The State Fire Marshal’s office has ruled the fire accidental and is still looking into the exact cause. As flames engulfed the home in the Benedict Circle are of St. Albans, the windy conditions made the situation even more difficult for firefighters. According to Patricia Freeman her 74-year-old husband Donald Freeman died in the fire. This is the first fatal fire in Kanawha County of 2016. It’s the 20th fire related fatality in West Virginia in 2016.
