Dismissed Charges

A lawsuit filed against the city of Parkersburg, its former mayor and the current police chief over the loss of longevity raises for police officers has been dismissed. The Parkersburg News and Sentinel reports that in a ruling filed Friday, Judge Jeffrey Reed granted the defendants’ motion for summary judgment, saying the elimination of longevity pay was done with proper notice and didn’t breach a contract because none existed.
