Charleston Doctor Pleads Guilty to Violating Record Keeping Law
Charleston Neurologist, Dr. Iraj Derakhshan, faces four years in prison after pleading guilty to to violating federal record keeping law. He’s been accused of writing too many prescriptions for pain killers and his license is suspended. The Associated Press said that the Charleston Gazette reported Derakhshan wrote more than 14,000 controlled substances prescriptions in less than eight months beginning July 1, 2013.
