Military Training Exercise Continues in Logan County
Don’t be alarmed about all the activity in Logan County. It’s a military training exercise that continues this week near Chapmanville. Logan County Dispatchers got calls last week wondering about the loud noise, but the West Virginia National Guard advised the Logan County Sheriff’s Office it’s all part of the Ridge Runner training exercises that take place in urban and rural locations throughout the state. Those in training will have Ridge Runner ID badges, but may be in military or civilian clothing, or both. The exercises this week are in the vicinity of the new Logan County National Guard Armory in Holden, along with a newly created airstrip known as Camp Branch.
