WVU Basketball Game to Help Flood Victims
West Virginia University says net proceeds from a women’s basketball game against Concord University this fall will benefit families affected by flooding. The school said the Mountaineers recently visited Rainelle to help with flood recovery efforts, removing personal items, debris and water-logged walls and flooring from a couple of homes. The team has also helped by donating supplies and money to the victims. Coach Mike Carey says the trip to Rainelle “was an eye-opening experience” for the team. Admission to the Nov. 1 game at Robert C. Byrd High School in Clarksburg will be $5 for adults and $3 for children.
