Wayne Co. Official Charged with Embezzlement
Wayne County Assessor Eric Hodges faces charges of using a county purchasing card to buy items for personal use. West Virginia State Police say he’s charged with felony embezzlement, computer fraud and fraudulent use of a credit card. Hodges is accused of using a county purchasing card to buy more than $5,600 worth of hardware items, tools and ammunition on July 9 and July 14 in Webster Springs in Webster County. Putnam County prosecutor Mark Sorsaia has been appointed as special prosecutor for the case.
