State budget

A new joint committee is being formed to get a jump-start on the 2017 state budget. House Speaker Tim Armstead confirmed this week that the GATE Committee will meet over the next six months before the start of the new legislative session in February. The committee of nine state senators and nine House delegates met for the first time yesterday afternoon.
