Mayor Jones Makes Appointment for City Clerk

If the city council approvees, Charleston lawyer J.B. Akers will become the next city clerk. Mayor Danny Jones said on his Facebook page Monday that he’s appointing Akers to be Charleston’s City Clerk, and said the city council has the final say, but he’s confident of the outcome. Council members will vote on the appointment Aug. 17th.
