Water Rate Increase Approved in St. Albans
If you’re in St. Albans, get ready to pay a little more for an essential. St. Albans city council members voted to raise water rates this week, and the first increase will show up on water bills next month. The average bill will go up by about three bucks. Officially, you’ll start paying $27 for the first 2,000 gallons of water used instead of the current $24. The city will use the extra money to pay for upgrades to the water system. This is the first of two increases, and the next one will take effect in 2017.
