Candidates money
The Democratic and Republican candidates for West Virginia governor and groups supporting them have spent about $8.1 million combined on the contest. Down ballot, the attorney general race has cost $5.2 million. The Democrats, gubernatorial hopeful Jim Justice and attorney general challenger Doug Reynolds, have used millions of their own personal wealth. The Republicans, gubernatorial hopeful Bill Cole and Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, have benefited from millions in outside group spending.
